Becky Walker, School Director
Hello, my name is Rebecca (Becky) Walker and I am the School Director at Cadence Academy Tumwater. I have been with Cadence Academy since 2013 and I describe myself as a helper and a caregiver. I understand how important comfort and belonging is in every life. My passion is to create an environment that supports this whether with children, parents or teachers. I started my career as a parent in a co-operative preschool serving on the Board when I decided to use my love of learning to inspire children. After completing my AA in Early childhood, I began working in childcare and quickly realized that the social emotional aspect of childhood was my calling. I returned to school for a BS in Behavior Analysis which I received in 2012. I came here with a dream of learning how to run a quality center that providing families with excellent care and teachers with the support they deserve. I found that here! In my home life I have two beautiful girls; one in College and one at home in High School.
I have a wonderful husband who has always supported my dreams and I have some beautiful furry babies that help me relax and enjoy life. Much of our vacation and off time is spent surrounded by extended family camping and enjoying each other’s company. One thing that always helps me make it through the day is coffee and I the one thing I always feel is blessed!

Charlotte Summers, Teacher
Hi, my name is Charlotte Summers. I was born, raised and went to school in Washington state. My husband, Rich, and I have been married twenty-seven years, we live in Rochester and have two daughters. Sarah is 22 and Rebecca is 16. My career in child care started in 1995 working for a neighbor at her home daycare center. In 2000 I started working in a Center as an Infant/Toddler teacher and gained experience with two-year olds. I came to Cadence Academy in 2003 where I continue to work with infants. I have now been here for 13 years! My desire to teach and work in childcare comes from the love of children and watching them grow. I find this to be a very rewarding experience. Each year I continue my education and training with ongoing S.T.A.R.S. hours in Early Childhood Education. Thank you for your time and putting your trust in me to give the very best loving care to your child.
