About Our School
The staff at Cadence Academy Preschool, The Colony wants our young students to feel at home every time they walk through the doors of our preschool. We take a skill-based approach to early childhood education and help families make the most of these amazing early years by attending to the social, emotional, physical, and intellectual needs of each child in our care.
Our school was previously a Peanut Gallery location. We changed our name from The Peanut Gallery, The Colony to Cadence Academy Preschool, The Colony in September 2019.
Our preschool programs are proven to place young children on the fast track to academic success, but when children enter kindergarten, it isn’t necessary for them to know the names of all the dinosaurs or planets. What’s important is that they know how to cut with scissors, recognize letter shapes, follow directions, effectively communicate their feelings, complete simple math problems, and play well with their peers.

Is Your Child Ready for Kindergarten?
Young children have an endless capacity to learn! At Cadence Academy, we believe that the most impactful way for young children to develop skill is to give them some control over their learning process. We offer our preschool students a variety of playful educational activities and encourage them to select what they want to participate in.
Our Ascend Curriculum provides our teachers a flexible educational framework that builds valuable sets of skills over time. We continually work with our students to reach important developmental milestones within 9 different subjects, but our goal is to recognize where each child is on a particular skill and then take them to the next step without comparing them to their peers. Teachers are encouraged to modify our activities to match the interests and learning style of each student so that these first educational experiences are engaging and fun!
Kind Child is a proprietary program that focuses on the social and emotional well-being of our students. We want every child to feel welcome and valued at our preschool, so Kind Child has become a regular subject within our monthly curriculum. We encourage our students to adopt important character traits such as a Positive Self-Image, Responsibility, and Thankfulness and we introduce new social skills every month.
We love attending to the emotional well-being of every child in our care and seeing positive friendships blossom all over our school. Schedule a visit so that you can see the impact of Kind Child for yourself!
