Heather Grocott, Director
I first started my journey with the Cadence family in 2007 in our Smithfield location as a Kindergarten teacher. I then entered the company’s Management in Training Program, working in several of our locations while also training staff in various areas of early childhood education. I made my home in Lincoln in February of 2010 as the Education Coordinator of the site. I later became the Director of our school in May of 2011.
I am a graduate from Providence College in Elementary and Special Education, where I obtained a bachelor’s degree. I also have a Master’s Degree from Rhode Island College in Early Childhood Education. My true passion is not only working with children, but sharing knowledge with families and teachers in order to provide high quality early learning experiences. I make it my mission to stay current and active in the field of Early Childhood Education here in Rhode Island. I am a proud member of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Rhode Island Childcare Director’s Association, as well as the Rhode Island College Early Childhood Advisory Board. I have had the honor and privilege to deliver professional development opportunities at both the local and national levels throughout my career. I also share my passion for early learning as an adjunct professor at two local colleges. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family, cooking, the beach, and teaching dance.
