Maegen Marmon, School Director
I have worked for Cadence Academy Preschool for 13 years. During my time here I have been an Infant Teacher, Two Year Old Lead Teacher, and Assistant Director. Early Childhood Education has always been a passion of mine. I attended Des Moines Area Community College, where I studied business along with completing my Child Development Associate Credential. I love working with both the children and families to create a loving, fun, and educational environment!
Madison Whisney, Assistant Director
I am a recent graduate of Iowa State University. While studying to get my degree, I was a teacher in the young toddler room of an Ames area daycare for three years. In addition, I was a teacher in the infant room of my hometown daycare in Manning, Iowa. I have a passion for early childhood education and have a long family history of amazing teachers. I look forward to getting to know each and everyone of you!
Brandy Melton, Teacher
My name is Brandy and I’m the Lead Universal Preschool (UPK) Teacher. I have been employed here since the summer of 2004 and have found it to be a welcoming and family environment. I attended Graceland University where I received my BA Degree in Elementary Education with focuses in Early Childhood Education and Reading. As long as I can remember I have always wanted to teach and work with young children. They have such a passion and curiosity for learning and life. I only hope that my presence in their life can help foster a lifelong love of learning.
When I have free time, I enjoy being outdoors whether it’s going on a long walk, being near water or helping my parents in their backyard. I also enjoy being curled up with a good book at the end of the day as a way to relax. My family is very close and I spend as much time with them as I can. We often go camping and fishing on the weekends when the weather allows. My parents instilled in me the value of family and what it means. I take that knowledge and bring it into my classroom to help make the students feel comfortable and valued. I look forward to getting to know you and your family!
Jodie Messamer, Teacher
I’m Jodie and I’m the Lead Teacher in the Young Preschool room. I have been at this school since 2012. I’m from the area around Dallas Center. I graduated from Dallas Center-Grimes High School in 2010. I started working in childcare while in high school and my first full-time position was working with three year olds.
I enjoy spending time with my friends and family, being outside, and being with children. My husband, Matt, and I especially enjoy spending time outdoors together.
