Heather Lewis, School Director
Hello families! My name is Heather and it is a joy to be a part of the Cadence Education family. I have worked within the childcare field since 2000 and have my Child Development Associates Certificate. I am also going back to school to complete my AA in Early Childhood Education.
During my free time, I like to spend time with my family. We enjoy road trips and exploring as a family. I have 2 sons of my own. My first born Jayden was born in 2003, loves football, and was even accepted to join a traveling team with Reggie Jones from the New Orleans Saints. My other son Kouri was born in 2005 and also loves football. He has an agent and has been in a couple commercials. One with Seattle Children’s Hospital and he just did another with Richard Sherman. I also have a little stepson Malaki who was born in 2014. My boys keep me very busy as they are growing up into little men.
Thank you for entrusting us with your children here at Cadence Academy DuPont, where we truly strive to implement exceptional education!
Phoebe Morris, Assistant Director
I have worked with Cadence Academy for three years, and worked with children in many different educational settings for ten. I recently graduated with my Bachelor’s degree in Education and plan to complete a Masters in Educational Leadership in the coming years. I am passionate about culturally relevant and responsive teaching and I find myself frequently likened to ‘Mrs. Frizzle’ from the children’s show ‘The Magic School Bus' and I love to lean into that image. I am also passionate about nature, animals, bees and tea.
I was born and raised in the PNW, but I love to make frequent trips to the sandy beaches of southern California and visit with my family there. I have a long-term boyfriend and so far only one pet: an English Mastiff named Sue, (named after the Johnny Cash song “a boy named Sue”) though we want to get chickens and at least one goat soon. I look forward to meeting and working with all of the families at Dupont!
Rita Haynes, Teacher
Hi, I am Ms. Haynes and I have worked at Cadence Academy since 2008. My experience has been in the education field. Twenty seven years have been in the education field and thirty one years in K-12. I have an A.A.S degree from Pierce College. My younger years were spent with family and traveling and living in foreign countries. When my father retired we settled in the state of Washington. Thank you for the pleasure of working with your children and watching them grow.
Lani Peters, Teacher
